Most of the glass curtain walls we see every day are covered with tempered glass. Tempered glass is glass with good mechanical properties, heat resistance, earthquake resistance, and impact resistance; Its weight is 3-5 times that of ordinary glass of the same thickness. After the tempered glass is broken, the small fragments without sharp angles greatly reduce the harm to the human body.
However, after a period of use, glass curtain walls are bound to suffer losses and may also experience local damage, requiring regular inspection and maintenance of the curtain walls. In the maintenance project of glass curtain walls, there have been multiple instances of replacing broken glass curtain walls. Replacing glass curtain walls is a very professional job, and the construction personnel must be professional and the construction technology must also be professional.
Dismantling broken and damaged curtain wall glass is a technically challenging task in glass replacement construction. During the demolition process, the construction team ensures that other parts of the curtain wall are damaged while also ensuring their own safety.
Before dismantling, it is necessary to combine the curtain wall design drawings and the actual situation on site, fully grasp the curtain wall structure, take safety protection measures, and carry out glass dismantling work based on the weather conditions on site.
When dismantling, first clean up the debris: stick the surface of the broken glass with tape to ensure that it will not fall from a high altitude, then use a suction cup to remove the broken glass and place it in a safety bucket. Next, remove the remaining glass and frame: use a wallpaper knife to remove the sealant around the glass, take out the foam rod in the glue seam, and remove the aluminum alloy glass fastener in the glue seam. Arrange construction personnel inside and outside the glass, with 4 using suction cups to suck the glass and 3 using suction cups to suck the glass. Both parties cooperate to support, with the upper part of the glass facing outward and the bottom tilting slowly into the room until it lands safely. Dismantle the damaged aluminum alloy frame of the glass.
When installing, the construction team will deliver the glass and related accessories one by one from the roof to the construction site. When maintaining and updating the glass curtain wall, two groups of people work together inside and outside, with good suction cups for the inner and outer glass, joint installation of the inner and outer glass, aluminum alloy frame hooks, and aluminum alloy fasteners. Then fill foam rod around the glass, and use a glass glue gun to inject glass sealant into the glue seam to ensure that the glue seam is smooth. Then, clean the glass surface. After replacement, the exterior wall construction personnel should pay attention to safety and slide along the rope to the first floor, while the interior wall construction team members should clean up the site.
